We are proud to provide the setting for souvenir snapshots, professional portraits, and commercial photography and film shoots. The following are the photographic options available at the Deering Estate at Cutler:
Personal Photography
Visitors to the Deering Estate at Cutler are welcome to take photographs or videos on the main grounds and inside of the house. Flash Photographs and videos with lights are, however, not permitted inside of the historic houses - Stone House, Richmond Cottage, Carriage House, Power House and Pump House - for the benefit of other visitors and to protect our collections.
Personal Portraits and Scenic Photography by Professional Photographers
Photography permits are available for individuals who wish to use the Deering Estate at Cutler as the setting for scenic photography* and personal photo portraits by professional photographers, including quinceañeras, couples, or others celebrating a special time. Permits allow photography outside of the historic houses only and are sold at our ticket booth from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. The park is open until 5:00 pm.
The fee is $60 plus 7% sales tax and provides admission for up to 4 people, including the photographer. There is a $12 fee for each additional person over the initial group of 4.
Non-Commercial Photo Shoot Permit Rules
*Note: For professional photographers using the Estate as the subject for fine art photography, photographers are required to credit all work that is exhibited or reproduced elsewhere, as such: “The Deering Estate at Cutler.” Additionally, all work that is created or reproduced while on the Estate or using Estate images shall not be for commercial use, and can only be made available for private exhibit or private sale. No reservations are required. Permit fees are non-refundable. Permits may be purchased at the Main Gate or Ticket Office upon arrival. Commercial Still Photography and Filming Permits
Permits are available for commercial photography by advance reservation. The Deering Estate at Cutler provides the use of the exterior of the buildings only for Film/T.V. Video Shoots (between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm).
Still Photo Fee: $800 plus 7% sales tax per day.
Filming Fee: $2,000. Each additional hour before 8:00 am and after 6:00 pm is $150.
Certificate of Insurance for Public Liability Insurance in an amount not less than $1,000,000 combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage is required. The Deering Estate at Cutler, 16701 SW 72 Avenue, Miami, Florida 33157, must be named as additionally insured. Please fax this documentation to 305-254-5866.
Major film and television shoots are approved on a case-by-case basis after submitting detailed request in writing. Permit fees are non-refundable and must be paid upon arrival of the crew.
