On the weekend of October 20th and 21st 2007, the Deering Estate at Cutler and the GroveHouse Artists co-hosted their first two-day “En Plein Air” (in the open air) painting event. Artists created works of art, primarily drawing their inspiration from the natural areas and historic houses located on the grounds of the Estate. This is a semi-annual event. GroveHouse Artists and the Deering Estate at Cutler partner on an En Plen Air event each Fall and Spring. Alongside the outdoor painting event, various GroveHouse Artists participate in a juried art exhibition located on the second floor of the Richmond Cottage. GroveHouse Artists is a 501 (3) (c), not for profit, co-operative art group, that provides a venue or venues for local artists to exhibit their original work, and to establish a community forum for awareness and participation in the arts and the art experience.
