Spring & Summer Cabaret Series
The Deering Estate's Spring and Summer Cabaret Concert Series features eclectic and world music artists in an intimate setting. The concerts are held on Thursday evenings in the Spring (February, March and April) and on Saturday evenings in the Summer (June, July and August).
The Deering Estate kicks off the 2010 Spring Cabaret Concert Series on Thursday, February 25th. The concert will feature Folk Singer and Coconut Grove native Bob Ingram.
All concerts begin at 8 pm; the main gate opens at 7 pm. It is recommended to arrive early for preferred seating. Guests are welcome to bring refreshments and snacks to enjoy during the show.

Single tickets are $20; the three-concert series is $55. Limited seating is available. Advance tickets are recommended. Tickets can be purchased online for an additional fee of $2.50 per ticket or by calling the Deering Estate Ticket Office at 305-235-1668 ext. 233.

Featuring Bob Ingram - Folk Singer
Bobby Ingram, Coconut Grove native, resided at the corner stone of a flourishing folk scene in the '60s and '70s singing by the Bay. He has toured and entertained audiences now for five decades with his broad folk music repertoire and humorous stories. He is truly a Florida original and greatly respected in folk and pop music circles. Bobby’s professional beginnings as a touring member of Les Baxter’s Balladeers along with fellow member David Crosby, who introduced and endeared Bobby Ingram to musicians across America. He has performed with David Crosby, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Jimmy Buffett, Fred Neil, Gail Garnet and many others. During his career, Bobby Ingram has owned, operated, partnered and performed in several South Florida coffeehouses including “Café Catacomb” in Ft. Lauderdale; “Gaslight South” in Coconut Grove; and “The Flick” in Coral Gables. He is also famous for making “Monty’s Raw Bar” a rare musical retreat on Biscayne Bay in Coconut Grove. To hear Bobby Ingram sing is an opportunity to re-visit Coconut Grove as an undiscovered artist and sailing colony while the Bay Breeze blows his songs gently into your heart.

Featuring Phill Fest - Brazilian Smooth Jazz Guitar "Bossa Nova"
Phill started guitar at age 16. Having already studied clarinet and violin, the 'six string' came easy. Phill studied at Music Tech of Minneapolis in '89. "My training is a combination of school and self-taught techniques." Phill performed for five years with Deeforce, an all original eclectic rock-n-roll band that won best original band of Florida '93-'94 at the Florida Jammy Awards. During this period, the band also moonlighted as The Starliters as in 'Joey Dee and The Starliters', known for the hit singles Peppermint Twist and Shout. "I've played with the who's-who of oldies; Bo Didley, Spencer Davis, Coasters, Drifters, to name a few." Phill has recorded four compact discs with his father Manfredo Fest for Concord Jazz. Each of these recordings feature a composition by Phill: Offerenda (CCD-4539) July, '91; Comecar De Novo (CCD-4660) January, '95; Fascinating Rhythm (CCD-4711) January, '96; and Amazonas (CCD-4766) October, '96.
In the spring of '95 Phill landed his forst solo deal for Inspired Artists "Acoustic Shores". At the 1996 Bay Area Music Awards (B.A.M.A.) Phill won "Best Jazz Artist". Summer of '96 brought Phill to Germany and Denmark as a member of the Hendrick Muerkens Samba Jazz Quintet. In February of '97 Phill toured England and Spain with Maria Creuza (famous Brazilian Singer). In 2001, relocating to the South Florida (West Palm Beach, Miami) area was what the doctor ordered. He has since performed with area favorites such as: Terezinha Valois, Dale Powers-Jumpin - Jive, Roberto Pereira, Bill Porter, Christina Sichta, Adriana Samargia, Bruce Jarett , Brian Murphy, Matt Boneli, Johnny O., Susan Merritt, Tom Roberts, Richard Malfitano, Richie Conn, Al Shikaly, Valerio Cantori, Raul Hernendes, and Rick Doll to name a few. In spring of '05 Phill, along with Brian Lutz(drums) and bassist Russ Howard, formed 'The Shop', a power trio specializing in everything from Brazilian jazz to funk-rock fusion.

Howard Greenblatt - Classical and Flamenco Guitarist
Guitarist Howard Greenblatt is an exciting and versatile artist, who has received wide acclaim from critics and audiences throughout the Eastern United States, Canada and Englad. In his London debut at the Wigmore Hall, he was given the honor of a comparison with the great English guitarist Julian Bream. In his New York debut at Canegie Recital Hall, the New York Times said: "agile and supple fingers...he played with color...the rhythm was steady yet flexible according to the needs of the music...a guitarist who was first rate."
Mr. Greenblatt's performances have included solo recitals, appearances as orchestral soloist, and chamber music with members of the New York Philharmonic, the Philharmonia Virtuosi, the City Center Opera and the New Jersey Opera, as well as frequent New York radio and television broadcasts. As further testimony to his diversified talents, Mr. Greenblatt has performed with flamenco and modern dance troupes, and has composed music for theatrical productions. His first recording, The Music of Francisco Tarrega, has been released by Lydian Records.

Harmonic Motions - Middle Eastern, Armenian, and North African music and dance. Musician/composer Joe Zeytoonian and dancer/percussionist Myriam Eli. They have recorded for Estefan Enterprises and Sony Music with Latin pop rock singer Shakira, with whom Ms. Eli toured and for whom she choreographs and drums. Mr. Zeytoonian has also recorded with Gloria Estefan.
